They're Baack: With A Vengence
Most of us have been lulled into believing that the war of ideologies has been fought, won and decided. That the ideologies of Marxism, Communism, Fascism and any other 'ism', i.e. Islamo-fascism, etc. have already been relegated to the ash heap of history. We have fought those wars. We have won those battles. Humanity has already declared the verdict, these forms of government are not viable alternatives. Democracy must prevail!
Not so fast there cowboy. We have the "NEW PROGRESSIVES" in this country who are now in power and are emboldened enough to reveal their true thoughts and intent for anyone willing to listen to what it is that they have to say (and yes, they are good at bloviating and using their special 'code' language to bore a man to tears but we MUST listen for the POTUS is their man and he listens to them).
The "NEW PROGRESSIVES" (Neo-Progressives, or neo-progs)are a rueful lot. They seem to be able to ignore the facts that stare them in the face and and carry on as though nothing has ever happened to contradict their Pollyannic view of the world. They TRULY BELIEVE in Big Government as the cure for the ailments of the world. They TRULY BELIEVE that if only government were IN CHARGE OF EVERYTHING that there would be a Utopian Society where everyone would do his share and everyone would be a happy and productive member of society. If they were in charge we could stop building prisons (eventually, because we are going to NEED them in the near future for those who are causing 'problems') and wastefully spending our resources on wars and keeping a standing military. If we would only listen to them and let them have their way everyone would be happy and young forever. Oh, what a wonderful world it would be, if only....
I suppose one could call them idealists, or unrealistic, or egg-headed intellectuals, Marxists, Communists or whatever. I call them what they are: DANGEROUS~
These "NEW PROGRESSIVES" ignore men like Madison, Jefferson, Franklin and one of the most remarkable men in history; George Washington (when he voluntarily relinquished the reigns of power he set a new standard in the annals of human governance). These men understood the human condition. They knew what unrestrained government was capable of and they knew that government BY ITS VERY NATURE is coercive. Government exists for one reason and one reason alone: Do what we say or else! Or else pay the fine, or else we will put you in prison, or else we will take your very life! Listen to the words of George Washington,
Yet these "NEW PROGRESSIVES" think that they are different. They think that they are smarter than everyone else, including the founding fathers. That they will FINALLY get big government right THIS TIME. Yes, the Soviet Union failed, but that was because they weren't in charge. Yes, the Post Office is a national embarrassment of governmental bureaucratic inefficiency, and the Social Security Administration is a bureaucratic nightmare, and the Internal Revenue Service is so complicated and convoluted that if you call and speak to one official and ask a question and then call back five minutes later and ask the same question to a different official you are likely to get two completely different answers to a question for which YOU will be criminally liable. But the Veteran's Administration is supposed to be a model for nationalized health care due to the "care" that our veterans receive (never mind the fact that there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY in the VA system, that veterans were infected with the AIDS VIRUS when given routine colostomies in Nashville, or that our veterans were counseled on when life was not worth living anymore, or that...).
But that's just.... (well I don't know what they would say to that argument, but I do know that they ignore the evidence and would somehow try to explain it away). "BUT BIG GOVERNMENT IS THE ANSWER!" Just trust us and give us complete control over everything and we will show you what REALLY Big Government can do!

Hyperinflation Coming to a Country Near You!
As a nation we have collectively been aboard an economic SS Titanic blithely sailing along into the deep with not a care in the world. All the while, there looming on the horizon lies that which, while it could be avoided if proper action were taken in time, will bring our inevitable doom: Hyperinflation.
Those at the helm of economic power, Obama, Bernanke, Geithner, etc. are either complete idiots ignoring the warning sirens coming from a plethora of individuals, organizations and from HISTORY itself, or they are the epitome of evil bringing upon this nation and the world untold misery and death with nefarious intent to centralize wealth and power. Take your pick. Either choice brings the same result for our way of life.
While the media spend their efforts covering 'real news' like Obama's idiotic waste of time and prestige on the 2016 Olympics we draw ever nearer to the inevitable result of our actions. I realize that there are those who will read this and dismiss it with the wave of a hand saying, "It can't happen here. Not now. We are too smart. Too big to fail." To which I respond, the laws of physics work no matter how big you are and no matter who you are, they are no respecters of persons. {For a wonderful parallel between the economy and the Titanic read: "The Ship That Couldn't Sink"} And as the laws of physics ALWAYS work, so too do the laws of economics. No one, and NO NATION are above these laws!
This is why we are seeing the price of gold skyrocket. Those who know about these things and have wealth that they wish to protect are seeking shelter from the coming economic storm.
I am writing this to you to give you a warning of the impending disaster so that you may take the necessary steps to protect yourself and those you love. If you chose to ignore the warning remember, it was your choice.

If you accept (b) {see above} as the premise for our current situation then it appears that all of it is being done with the INTENT of the complete breakdown of society and the current laws being enacted for the "Stimulus Package," Health Care and Cap & Trade (without being read, which I liken to giving a blank check to a drunken sailor, you get what you deserve) are simply a means to that end and the end of our beloved republic. Or these folks REALLY believe, for whatever reason that they can have the country effectively live on credit cards indefinitely (a premise that I have a difficult time accepting). But it all boils down to the same thing in the end: The End of the American Way of Life. For no nation, no matter how big and influential, can withstand the complete breakdown of societal support and infrastructure. As a matter of fact, the more advanced a society is, more dependent it is upon that structure for basic necessities of food, water and shelter.
Questions:
If your local grocery store were to suddenly stop receiving shipments of food where would you go to get food for your meals in about a month's time?
If your faucets were to stop giving water, where would go to get the nearest potable water?
In times past we would hunt and fish, grow and can our own food and draw our water from a well. Now most of us are dependent upon the infrastructure. If it were to collapse what would you do?
There ARE things you can do, but you must START NOW!
Start with food and water and then go from there.
Start thinking in terms of living in a bartering society and what skills you have and which resources you will need and have in an abundance to barter with (coffee is like gold).
Remember the parable of the "Grasshopper and the Ant."

Did you ever think we'd be getting lessons in power politics from the French? Well, under Barack Obama, that sad moment has in fact arrived.
The Wall Street Journal reports that French President Nicolas Sarzoky wanted to confront Iran at the U.N. last week, but it was President Obama who refused. A top administration official told the French they didn't want to spoil the image of Obama's success at the U.N.
I'm not kidding.
According to The Journal, President Sarzoky was so frustrated by Obama's spinelessness that he mocked him indirectly in his U.N. address saying, "We are right to talk about the future, but the present comes before the future, and the present includes two major nuclear crises... We live in the real world, not a virtual one."
I never thought I'd say this, Mr. President, but you should listen to the French.

When I wrote the previous post Why Qom Spells Doom I had not seen nor heard the Katie Couric interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Here Glenn Beck interviews Joel Rosenberg, producer and author of the film and book "Inside the Revolution" on Tuesday's "Glenn Beck Show" aired 9/29/2009.
What is the MOST disturbing part of the interview (at 6:50) is when it is revealed that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad states as a matter of fact in Katie Couric's interview that he "is in DIRECT communication with this Islamic messiah", i.e. "the 12th Imam."
What that means is we have the leader of a nation with nuclear bomb aspirations (how close is anybody's guess) who claims (with a straight face) that he speaks to a person who is living and breathing today who was born some 1000 years ago! If that is NOT the definition of insanity - PLEASE SOMEBODY tell me what is!
The Obama administration thinks that you can just sit down with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and have have a reasonable conversation.
News Flash: You can't have a reasonable conversation with someone who is insane, because by DEFINITION they do not have the capability to reason!

Why Qom Spells Doom
There were dramatic revelations on the world stage last week concerning Iranian aspirations for the enrichment of uranium intent on developing a nuclear bomb. When the leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom and (of all nations) France (could you tell by Sarzoky's body language that he really didn't want to be there?) all stood on a platform together and collectively condemned Iran for their deception of world leaders and their 'good faith' efforts to work with Iran on this issue, a proverbial "line in the sand" was drawn. Then, in just a few short hours, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps quickly crossed that line when it launched what it called "Great Prophet 4" missiles to assess "recent development and tactical progress" in Iran's missile-defense systems, according to Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami.
News about Iran's uranium enrichment program was not really 'new,' for those who have followed the development of the Iranian nuclear program. We have known about this site for years. But what is 'new' is the action of the world of calling Iran on it, and on a WORLD STAGE no less! This was designed and planned to have as much impact as possible on the Iranians. Their response, launch "Great Prophet 4" missiles!
This tells us (at least it tells me) that Iran doesn't really care what the world thinks. As a matter of fact they seem to be following the beliefs and teachings of what some in the Islamic faith have called the "12th Imam," or the "Hidden Imam." Now most of you have probably never even heard of the 12th Imam but Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (or as one commentator put it "I'm-a-nut-job") believes this doctrine to core of his soul. It's kind of like "the Rapture" in Christian circles. It's not found in the Scriptures as a book chapter and verse doctrine, but there are those who compile a conglomeration of verses and teach it as Christian doctrine. And those who believe in "the Rapture" REALLY believe it and will not be dissuaded from it. So it is with Islam and the 12th Imam.
Who Is The 12th Imam?
Within the Shiite, (which is predominate in Iran), it is prophesied that there is a coming 12th Imam who is the great spiritual savior. This Imam is named Abu al-Qasim Muhammad or also called Muhammad al Mahdi. He is said to have been born the son of the 11th Imam, Hasan Al-Askari and his wife, the granddaughter of an Emperor. There are conflicting statements of her name being either Fatima or Nargis Khatoon.
Most accounts of the story say that al Mahdi went into hiding as a child around the age of 5 years (about 13th Century). It said he has been ‘in hiding’ in caves ever since but will supernaturally return just before the Day of Judgment.
According to the Hadith the criteria for the Hidden Imam are:
• He will be a descendant of Muhammad and the son of Fatima
• Will have a broad forehead and pointed nose
• Will return just before the end of the world
• His appearance will be preceded by a number of prophetic events during 3 years of horrendous world chaos, tyranny and oppression
• Will escape from Medina to Mecca, thousands will pledge allegiance to him
• Will rule over the Arabs and the world for 7 years
• Will eradicate all tyranny and oppression bringing harmony and total peace
• Will lead a prayer in Mecca which Jesus will be at his side and follow him in
Thus the 12th Imam theory plays heavily into the world’s current concerns with Iran. The Shiite Muslim President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, is deeply committed to the Islamic Messiah, al Mahdi. There have been many through the years claiming to be the Hidden Imam but Ahmadinejad believes he is yet to come. He (I'm-a-nut-job) claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. And in order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic perspective alludes to some very frightening implications with a man leading a country with a nuclear button just waiting to be pushed.
Add to this volatile mix, a group of world leaders who seem to be ready to join hands at the U.N. and sing "Kum By Ya" ending with a plea, "Can't we all just get along?" and you have a recipe for DISASTER on a global scale! (I don't know if disaster is a strong enough word?) Where is Winston Churchill when you NEED HIM?
The leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom and France (?) all seem to operate from the mistaken notion "people are really good at heart. They still harbor a naivete about the 'basic good' in man; allow me to indulge. I am a preacher and as such this dilemma about basic good, or basic evil has been at the center of my theological belief system. When asked in graduate school the question, "Is man basically good, or basically evil?" I could not answer the question for about a week. If good, then why Nazi Germany? Why do children lie when no one has taught them too? If evil, then why is there love? Why do these same children offer their most prized possessions to share with others? (I could go into greater detail but you get my point) After struggling with this dilemma I finally concluded that this was a false dichotomy. Men were neither basically good, nor were they basically evil, men are BORN basically SELFISH. That is why we have the propensity to evil, the propensity to sin and the propensity for good, for denial of self for the good of others, to learn to NOT BE SELFISH. Obama and the rest of the world leaders FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THIS POINT! They work off the erroneous belief that men are "basically good at heart;" they are NOT!
ALL MEN ARE BORN SELFISH! All men are born with the propensity to sin! All men are BORN with the capability to commit sins against humanity! To commit CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY! Unless we are taught better. Unless we are taught to serve and sacrifice for the greater good instead of sacrificing the greater good for ourselves. Islam's teaching of the 12th Imam preaches the INTENTIONAL DESTRUCTION of humanity in the name of Islam!
Yet We Continue This Tried and True Tactic:
The world continues to ignore the simple fact that as he has stated himself on several occasions, Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. The leaders of the world continue to refuse to take "I'm-a-nut-job" at his word. Thus, like Hitler before him, he will have to show the world that he REALLY MEANS EXACTLY what he says before anyone (other than Israel) will believe him.
Questions:
Does Obama have the intestinal fortitude to take the BOLD ACTION necessary to nip-it-in-the-bud (a la, Barney Fife) when no other president since Carter has had the stones to do so?
Will there be a NEXT TIME to tell the world, "We told you so last time" so that when the next time comes the world will FINALLY listen to a raving lunatic when he starts ranting and raving about eradicating people from the face of the earth?
Or does Qom (pronounced koom) spell doom for all of us?

Thursday afternoon, at its Live Pulse Blog ("Breaking News on the Health Care Fight"), Carrie Burdoff Brown reported the following:
Flout the mandate penalty? Face the IRS
Americans who fail to pay the penalty for not buying insurance would face legal action from the Internal Revenue Service, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.
The remarks Thursday from the committee's chief of staff, Thomas Barthold, seems to further weaken President Barack Obama's contention last week that the individual mandate penalty, which could go as high as $1,900, is not a tax increase.
Under questioning from Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.), Barthold said the IRS would "take you to court and undertake normal collection proceedings."
Ensign pursued the line of questioning because he said a lot of Americans don't believe the Constitution allows the government to mandate the purchase of insurance.
Friday, Brown reported that Ensign got a clarification on what the result of "normal collection proceedings" might be, and got it in writing (HT Hot Air):
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.
Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold."
What follows is a picture of Barthold's actual note. The original at Politico is here. The content is unchanged; I removed some empty space and adjusted the graphic's properties to make the text more readable (and to have something in case Politico takes the original down):
The postscript in Barthold's note is not in the text of Politico's report. Though it's not particularly legible, it says that "Felony tax evasion provides for restitution and a fine of up to $100,000 for an individual and up to five years in jail."

B-b-b-but Barack Obama told ABC "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday that that these fines aren't taxes, and even ridiculed him for looking up the definition of the word in the dictionary (SEE: Obama's Nontax Tax post below):
