Why Qom Spells Doom

There were dramatic revelations on the world stage last week concerning Iranian aspirations for the enrichment of uranium intent on developing a nuclear bomb. When the leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom and (of all nations) France (could you tell by Sarzoky's body language that he really didn't want to be there?) all stood on a platform together and collectively condemned Iran for their deception of world leaders and their 'good faith' efforts to work with Iran on this issue, a proverbial "line in the sand" was drawn. Then, in just a few short hours, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps quickly crossed that line when it launched what it called "Great Prophet 4" missiles to assess "recent development and tactical progress" in Iran's missile-defense systems, according to Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami.

News about Iran's uranium enrichment program was not really 'new,' for those who have followed the development of the Iranian nuclear program. We have known about this site for years. But what is 'new' is the action of the world of calling Iran on it, and on a WORLD STAGE no less! This was designed and planned to have as much impact as possible on the Iranians. Their response, launch "Great Prophet 4" missiles!

This tells us (at least it tells me) that Iran doesn't really care what the world thinks. As a matter of fact they seem to be following the beliefs and teachings of what some in the Islamic faith have called the "12th Imam," or the "Hidden Imam." Now most of you have probably never even heard of the 12th Imam but Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (or as one commentator put it "I'm-a-nut-job") believes this doctrine to core of his soul. It's kind of like "the Rapture" in Christian circles. It's not found in the Scriptures as a book chapter and verse doctrine, but there are those who compile a conglomeration of verses and teach it as Christian doctrine. And those who believe in "the Rapture" REALLY believe it and will not be dissuaded from it. So it is with Islam and the 12th Imam.

Who Is The 12th Imam?
Within the Shiite, (which is predominate in Iran), it is prophesied that there is a coming 12th Imam who is the great spiritual savior. This Imam is named Abu al-Qasim Muhammad or also called Muhammad al Mahdi. He is said to have been born the son of the 11th Imam, Hasan Al-Askari and his wife, the granddaughter of an Emperor. There are conflicting statements of her name being either Fatima or Nargis Khatoon.

Most accounts of the story say that al Mahdi went into hiding as a child around the age of 5 years (about 13th Century). It said he has been ‘in hiding’ in caves ever since but will supernaturally return just before the Day of Judgment.

According to the Hadith the criteria for the Hidden Imam are:

• He will be a descendant of Muhammad and the son of Fatima
• Will have a broad forehead and pointed nose
• Will return just before the end of the world
• His appearance will be preceded by a number of prophetic events during 3 years of horrendous world chaos, tyranny and oppression
• Will escape from Medina to Mecca, thousands will pledge allegiance to him
• Will rule over the Arabs and the world for 7 years
• Will eradicate all tyranny and oppression bringing harmony and total peace
• Will lead a prayer in Mecca which Jesus will be at his side and follow him in

Thus the 12th Imam theory plays heavily into the world’s current concerns with Iran. The Shiite Muslim President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, is deeply committed to the Islamic Messiah, al Mahdi. There have been many through the years claiming to be the Hidden Imam but Ahmadinejad believes he is yet to come. He (I'm-a-nut-job) claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. And in order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic perspective alludes to some very frightening implications with a man leading a country with a nuclear button just waiting to be pushed.

Add to this volatile mix, a group of world leaders who seem to be ready to join hands at the U.N. and sing "Kum By Ya" ending with a plea, "Can't we all just get along?" and you have a recipe for DISASTER on a global scale! (I don't know if disaster is a strong enough word?) Where is Winston Churchill when you NEED HIM?

The leaders of the USA, the United Kingdom and France (?) all seem to operate from the mistaken notion "people are really good at heart. They still harbor a naivete about the 'basic good' in man; allow me to indulge. I am a preacher and as such this dilemma about basic good, or basic evil has been at the center of my theological belief system. When asked in graduate school the question, "Is man basically good, or basically evil?" I could not answer the question for about a week. If good, then why Nazi Germany? Why do children lie when no one has taught them too? If evil, then why is there love? Why do these same children offer their most prized possessions to share with others? (I could go into greater detail but you get my point) After struggling with this dilemma I finally concluded that this was a false dichotomy. Men were neither basically good, nor were they basically evil, men are BORN basically SELFISH. That is why we have the propensity to evil, the propensity to sin and the propensity for good, for denial of self for the good of others, to learn to NOT BE SELFISH. The greatest selfish act is to take the life of my brother, the greatest unselfish act is to lay down my life for my friend, thus the Cross is the greatest good.

Obama and the rest of the world leaders FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THIS POINT! They work off the erroneous belief that men are "basically good at heart;" they are NOT!

ALL MEN ARE BORN SELFISH! All men are born with the propensity to sin! All men are BORN with the capability to commit sins against humanity! To commit CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY! Unless we are taught better. Unless we are taught to serve and sacrifice for the greater good instead of sacrificing the greater good for ourselves. Islam's teaching of the 12th Imam preaches the INTENTIONAL DESTRUCTION of humanity in the name of Islam!

Yet We Continue This Tried and True Tactic:


The world continues to ignore the simple fact that as he has stated himself on several occasions, Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. The leaders of the world continue to refuse to take "I'm-a-nut-job" at his word. Thus, like Hitler before him, he will have to show the world that he REALLY MEANS EXACTLY what he says before anyone (other than Israel) will believe him.



Questions:

Does Obama have the intestinal fortitude to take the BOLD ACTION necessary to nip-it-in-the-bud (a la, Barney Fife) when no other president since Carter has had the stones to do so?

Will there be a NEXT TIME to tell the world, "We told you so last time" so that when the next time comes the world will FINALLY listen to a raving lunatic when he starts ranting and raving about eradicating people from the face of the earth?

Or does Qom (pronounced koom) spell doom for all of us?
